FRANCE’s fishing chief has claimed victory over the UK, gloating: “They wanted their waters but we kept access!”
Fishing is still a very contentious subject in the realm of Brexit. The deal served to the UK fishermen wasn’t a good deal, nor was it taking back control of its quotas as promised.
Today the French-backed up that sentiment saying: “They (UK) wanted all of their waters to themselves, but we kept all of the access.” With this analogy, it looks like the EU have come away with a better deal. On fishing, Britain has taken back control of its waters, but not the fish in them.
