With the UK Chancellor cutting red tape around the financial sector, this may be great for Britain. Still, it may well go against the level playing field clauses in the new future relationship agreement signed last December.
The level playing field terms states that Britain can’t become more competitive than the EU as it would be deemed an unfair advantage to Britain. Doing so will end in sanctions. Will Boris be strong enough to facedown the EU to protect the London financial system?
The financial service sector was not part of the Brexit deal, so is not included in any level playing field.
We have left the hated eu.That is fact.
